FRIDAY: FOUND SOUND #31

Aloha and welcome back to Found Sound

This week Highlight :: Jan & Dean – Save For a Rainy Day (1967)

Although Save For A Rainy Day is filed in the Jan & Dean section, this stormy sweet release stands out among it’s sunny cousins. In early 1966, Jan Berry was tragically involved in a car accident leaving him incapacitated. Without his longtime companion, Dean Torrence recorded these tracks in a friends garage using minimal production techniques. The result is his own version of psychedelia. Lo-FI, melancholy tracks with the sound of a summer storm mixed in between each cut.
